reading is for the cool kids

i go through phases when i enjoy reading, and others when i just cant seem to focus. am i alone?

husband reads historical fiction books, usually about wars or generals. i tend to prefer lighter reading, and i'm usually one to judge a book by the cover, or at least the title & cover art. if the book seems to have anything to do with pink or blonde, or being southern and ladylike, i'm generally intrigued.

i just finished "Four Blondes" by Candace Bushnell --- anybody else read it yet???
it wasn't bad, it wasn't outstanding either.
i don't usually finish a book and think "wow, that was a complete waste of time" because i just read for pleasure, so if a book is sub-par... then it is what it is. no hard feelings!

i started this one two nights ago, so far so good

i'll let you all know how it goes!

my friend Jennifer loaned me this one to read, i got a HUGE kick out of it, so if you haven't picked it up yet, i highly encourage you to do so, if for nothing more than a good laugh!

and i loaned Jennifer this one

literally... laughed out loud.
its pretty hard to be in a bad mood after reading a chapter of this one!

do i buy books because they are pink? yes.
is that wrong?
i think not.

happy wednesday!

  1. I too wasn't impressed with 4 blondes. But I did love Everyone Worth Knowing. And I pick books by their cover.

  2. I love reading books in the summer- for some reason it seems like I am always too busy the rest of the year to pick up a book! I have already flown through a couple so far, but I may have to look into a couple of the ones you posted.

By the way, I am a new follower! Please feel free to stop by my blog sometime!
