constructive criticism

Dear Lady (in particular the one singing opera style jingle-bells in hobby lobby today),

I realize that you may think you have a pretty decent voice, but Hobby Lobby is really not the place to test the waters on your "future american idol career" - may I suggest to you a karaoke bar?

Or perhaps, if you're just so inclined to sing at Hobby Lobby, might you try singing along with the song that is playing throughout the store? I find it a bit difficult to understand that you are singing "jingle bells" while a completely different song is your background music... I totally get the whole "women are multi-taskers" but I do believe that might be taking it a bit too far. One song at a time, friend.

Best of luck on your future singing endeavors,
(preferably when i'm not within 100 yards),
--yours truly!

Okay, actually.... that was all the polite version of what i was really thinking, which was something like
"SHHHHHHHUTTTT UP!!!"
i'm just trying to buy some stickers, paahhhhleease, be quiet!!!

so, in case you were wondering:
no, i did not say anything to her, i rapidly moved to a different section of the greatness that is hobby lobby, and patted myself on the back for not being "Bah-Humbug" seeing as its not even December yet.

Do these things happen to anyone else, or am I the only one annoyed by inappropriate public singing?!?
Happy Wednesday!

little devil

so, for thanksgiving this year i volunteered to make the devilled eggs... only problem:

i've never made them before.

eeek! so, i decided to do my trial runs early, perfect the recipe, and enjoy the tasting!
i did my first batch to compare between powdered mustard and dijon mustard
the winner: dijon

and the second batch was comparing brown eggs with white eggs
the winner: brown eggs
lucky i collect antique devilled egg trays!!!

as it turns out, i love making devilled eggs,
and i love even more the presentation of a beautiful serving piece!!!
fun fact:
i found this green DEggTray at a thrift store, i saw it... and fought some girl (no, not really) i just picked it up and put it in my buggy... i took it home to show my mama how beautiful it was, and she realized that it is the exact same pattern as one of the punch bowls she has.... hoooray!!!
so, for my someday future baby/wedding shower hosting, i'll have a darling set of green essentials.
i figure, for a boy shower it will be perfect with blue/brown
and for a girl, pink and green is just precious... i'm totally set.
friends, have babies so i can throw your shower!!!
or, you can just come over and i'll have an excuse to make devilled eggs!!!

a desk for Judie

our sunday school teacher's daughter (Judie) inherited her big brother's desk when he got a new drum set-- but she was a little bummed that it looked so bland. soooo, to brighten her room up- her super fun momma hired me to give it a little whimsical pizzazzzzz! the desk is from Pottery Barn, color: honey... something like this, but not exactly this style:
Judie's room is a light neutral grey color, with all white bedding (very chic for a 4th grader) and then...
this
i added "i am fearfully and wonderfully made" to the middle drawer

~and the top is covered in whimsical swirls~

its the perfect little statement piece,
and custom made just for Judie!!!

who says hand-me-downs arent fabulous?!?

The Williams kids, the Cuff kids,
