top 2 tuesday

i thought it would be fun to participate in the undomestic momma's top 2 tuesday, so here we go

2 THINGS YOU WANT TO PURCHASE!!!

my oh my, only 2 .... haha!
would LOVE to have a blue great dane puppy
 (a boy kind)
arent they precious?!?
i think Coach would love to have a friend,
then, he would turn into a handsome boy like this guy

secretly i'd love to have 5 but i'd be super happy if husband would just let us get one more, but we need to work out a few details (bigger cars-bigger yard) before we add another 150lb dog to our home

and
i've been so ready for a new couch,
ours is quite worn out (the dog might have something to do with it) and its just time... so hopefully soon i'll have a pretty new couch, maybe something like this

happy tuesday!

cute boys

look at how BIG little elliot has gotten
in just two weeks
he's such a little charmer,
and i hope he stays a fatty, his pudgy tummy is cute!!!
his mom and dad are just adoring having him around
--mama even got him a special water bowl that has continuous flowing water, he was so funny he kept swatting at it with his paw, eventually he figured out it was for drinking
he was very fascinated with the flash on my camera
and of course,
here are some of my handsome guy
he just adores laying in the shade,

would you think less of me if i admitted that i've got an outrageous number of pictures of him laying in the yard, i'm like an obsessive mom...
"mom, quit taking pictures and rub my belly, please..."

okay, lets not pretend
i'm obsessed, he's the best ever
look at that nap, doesn't he just look peaceful?!?
Coach brings such joy to our life!

dendle/hall wedding weekend

there they are friends, britt and gabe got married (finally)
"you may kiss the bride"
(backstory: gabe and britt have been dating for appx 7 years, hence the finally)

drew, coach and myself headed back to lbk for the wedding weekend
i managed to not take a single picture of the rehearsal dinner, which was lovely.
drew was a groomsman, i did the wedding party hair... busy busy!
and, how i manage to do 4 hours of bridesmaid hair and not take a picture of any of them -- i have no idea, but i did luckily snag one pic of brittany's hair...
and the first dance
britt was glowing, she was a beautiful bride!
me, britt, and mama
drew and gabe
josh, adam, and drew
(these boys have turned into great men)
and they've even learned to accessorize...
aren't my mom and mother in law cuties?!?
and last but not least...
isn't husband handsome?
i think so ;)

i'll post more pics from the weekend soon,
very happy to be home!

target audience

i used to not watch much tv, i had a hard time getting "into" any shows... no lie it took me till the 3rd season to jump on the "Grey's" bandwagon... and i never even considered Lost. kind of like books, i like mindless humor in my tv shows of choice.

so, here they are friends... in random order
SATC--i dvr every old episode and watch at least 2 at night before bed
favorite character: carrie (well, her shoes)

Greys-- husband and i never watch the season on tv
we ALWAYS wait and buy the dvds then have a marathon
favorite character: bailey

DDD-- pretty much would love Guy's job
favorite character: taco stands,mmm!

Housewives of .... pretty much anywhere, i'm such a sucker
favorite character: gretchen

i'm NOT a danielle fan, blah!
favorite character: jacqueline, teresa, and caroline
(they're all so fun--except trashy danielle, husband thinks she is a man)

NYC housewife, Bethenny Frankel...
(who is also my favorite nyc housewife)
bethenny getting married?
love the show, its absolutely hysterical

OTH--husband makes fun of me for this one,
he says apparently i'm addicted to bad tv
favorite character: brooke

my version of the news
favorite character: joe koi

i cant believe i'm admitting to the world that i watch "Make it or Break it"
between this show and the one below, husband says our children are never, as in NEVER allowed to watch the family channel. again, addicted to bad tv
favorite character: peyson

the secret life of the american teenager
favorite character: grace
lame
cant help myself.
dont hate.

and last but not least

another show husband and i buy the dvd's of and have a marathon
favorite character: undecided

okay, now that i've been brutally honest...
feel free to judge me
i've got a thing for reality tv
but i pride myself on being able to break the "bachelor" addiction
in college, it was a girls night
i've been lucky enough to overcome it and i no longer follow the bachelor or bachelorette!
progress, right?

reading is for the cool kids

i go through phases when i enjoy reading, and others when i just cant seem to focus. am i alone?

husband reads historical fiction books, usually about wars or generals. i tend to prefer lighter reading, and i'm usually one to judge a book by the cover, or at least the title & cover art. if the book seems to have anything to do with pink or blonde, or being southern and ladylike, i'm generally intrigued.

i just finished "Four Blondes" by Candace Bushnell --- anybody else read it yet???
it wasn't bad, it wasn't outstanding either.
i don't usually finish a book and think "wow, that was a complete waste of time" because i just read for pleasure, so if a book is sub-par... then it is what it is. no hard feelings!

i started this one two nights ago, so far so good

i'll let you all know how it goes!

my friend Jennifer loaned me this one to read, i got a HUGE kick out of it, so if you haven't picked it up yet, i highly encourage you to do so, if for nothing more than a good laugh!

and i loaned Jennifer this one

literally... laughed out loud.
its pretty hard to be in a bad mood after reading a chapter of this one!

do i buy books because they are pink? yes.
is that wrong?
i think not.

happy wednesday!

my not so green thumb

my mother once said in her early 20's that she wanted a house without a kitchen, ha-- obviously she grew out of that phase. but i think there is something to the mindset of 20-somethings "i don't know how to do that, so i don't want it in my house" -- luckily, i love to cook and i lust over huge kitchens, but i do have my own attitude about domestic things.    mine is more... outside of my house, the whole gardening situation.

am i the only one who thinks its okay to plant fake flowers????????

reasons:
1. they don't die
2. they don't need water, therefore cant die
3. when you're over them, you yank them out and stick a new kind in. POOF! pretty flowers!

my sweet mother, and sweet mother-in-law both disagreed with me on this subject and gave me the vote of confidence that "i can do this whole gardening thing" -- they both have beautiful flowers, and even know all the names!!!

my solution: make it cute!
i saw these cute flower pots in front of a really chic boutique in Ruidoso, NM-- and i thought "i can do that, planting flowers is way more fun in a cute pot, right?" so.... here is my attempt at re-creating the cute flower pots:
step 1: spray paint terra cotta flower pots white
(note: this took 2 cans of spray paint, lots of coats)

step 2: paint rim of pot black (acrylic paint)
and tape off stripe lines with painters tape,
remove tape quickly after painting
-black paint will take at least 2 coats-

step 3: re-touch lines and decide this is harder than it looks
apparently, i need more practice.

attempt #1 = mediocre, improvement needed
i give myself a C-
not a complete failure, but not porch worthy yet.

pictures of attempt #2 coming soon!
happy tuesday!
